Professor Whitebread spoke often at our State Judicial Training Conferences. It is with great sadness that I shall never study the Supremes through his witty presentations. I shall miss the yearly summaries - the Bench has lost a valuable asset with his death.

I took an US Bus from the Colseium / USC area to Heavy Metal Day.
I was 16 and it only cost an extra $15, I think. After Triumph played,
I planted meself right behind one of the camera scaffoldings/ chain
link fence, so I had a relatively clear view of everything without having
to fight for position. (The platforms were 10 feet up). The big screen showed
DLR f'in some girl backstage. After dark, a helicopter flew over
and a whole "Alien Invasion" thing was staged. After VH played, I made it back to the bus's
and somebody was being taken away, having been stabbed. Tons of ambulances and cops on horses.
I caught an US Bus back to the Hollywood Bowl and walked home at 3 am from there to Vermont and than up / over to Commonwealth (Los Veliz area by ABC TV).
I slept for at least 12 hours after that concert.

I really dig your blog. I came across it looking for info on the "US" festval. It looks like you graduated in 1978...so did I in Auburn Hills MI. My life was full of rock shows, lakes (instead of oceans) bikes and cars...always cars...being from Detroit you had to be about cars.

Good luck to you and thanks for bloggong.

The speech ages better than the photo...

"I also hope that some of the people that I have known here at Le Conte will be at the forefront of the struggle to find the solutions that we so desperately need."

Amazing how true that turned out to be.
